Few Hours in Salzburg

I went to Salzburg earlier today, and it blew me away in a different manner than Vienna.

Salzburg was just an absolutely beautiful mountain and historical place.

The train ride to Salzburg

I went straight to their massive fortress and made it to the top where I had a panoramic view of the entire city and mountain landscape. Being from Colorado, I feel like I have seen some epic mountains before, but these ones felt somehow older, wiser and less touched.

The feel of Salzburg was very much not like that in Vail, where things have been extremely commoditized.

It felt very authentic and natural there.

I spent some nice time up there, then came down, explored another Christmas market, walked around a bit, went to the big Cathedral, the big square, and then grabbed a tasty Schnitzel dinner before catching my next train.

Cities like Salzburg that are slower, more placed in nature resonate more with me. I loved the place and am looking forward to the day I get to return.
