I went to the International Climate Change Conference in Katowice which is the 10th biggest city in Poland with a bit over 300,000 people. It’s about an hour and a half drive from Krakow, Poland.

Given that I was at the conference for ~12 hours a day, I didn’t get to explore the city too much. Just have a few things that I’ll say about it:

  • They had an awesome and fun Christmas market. I didn’t know those were a thing, but have since found them in other places as well. It was this big open space with different vendors, music, and awesome vibes. There was also something called mulled wine, which is basically hot wine that is blended with different flavorful spices. I thought it was super tasty and very satisfying on a cold night
  • They have some awesome food in all of Poland. Pierogies are a signature — which are similar to dumplings but softer and tend to have different things inside of them. Some have potatoes and cheese, others have meat and cabbage, and so on. I tried one that had apples and cinnamon, too. Also had some really tasty pork knuckle.
  • Other than that, didn’t catch too much of the city. Just had lots of thoughts and experiences at the climate conference that I detailed here.
