Christmas Eve in Frankfurt
My last stop with mom was in Frankfurt on Christmas Eve (yesterday).
We didn’t explore Frankfurt too much since we needed some time to relax and not much waas open.
Just one main thing worth including in this post. We went to the Römerberg Square at 5 pm, where I believe for over half a century they have been ringing these massive bells each Christmas Eve. I didn’t really know what to expect, but it was a beautiful moment, one of the highlights of all my travels.
It was a beautiful square, with tons and tons of people, coming together to celebrate the holiday. It felt so communal, and made me appreciate, more than I have maybe this entire trip, the fortune I have to be able to be in Europe experiencing this life and culture of other people. It was this old Frankfurt tradition and was a beautiful demonstration of humanity and life.
Sadly not Chinese food for Christmas Eve, but we went to an equally tasty dinner at a Persian restaurant called Kish.
