A few days in Amsterdam
I arrived in Amsterdam on Christmas day to meet up with my friends :)
Christmas was surprisingly lively and busy in the city compared to Frankfurt where I was before.
We spent basically a day and a half and three nights there, taking a day trip to Utrecht, about a 45 min train out of the city.
In Amsterdam, we did a bunch of things
- Walked around the square and various neighborhoods
- Did a night time boat tour through the canals, looking at all the Christmas lights the city set up
- Ate lots of French fries and churros
- Went to a ton of Irish pubs and other bars
- Went to two clubs, one that wasn’t so fun and another techno one that was exactly what we wanted. Also got rejected from a different club for not knowing the performers name (or being 4 American dudes).
- Hung out in their big park
- Went to the Moco museum to see an impressive exhibit of street artist Banksy since the Van Gogh museum was sadly sold out (gotta buy tix ahead of time)
- Other Amsterdamian adventures

It was awesome meeting up with my friends again after two weeks without spending much time with anyone my age (which was also nice).
Amsterdam is a pretty crazy place. It’s a beautiful city along the water, and there seemed to be lots of wealth in areas we saw.
The rules there are different than anywhere I’ve ever been and it lead to a perspective of the city that is different than anywhere I have been before. Makes me wonder if there’s a better or worse in certain regards. Certainly a fun time there.
